There are some strong arguements out there for flat fee listing and buyer real estate brokerage, which was introduced in the US several years ago. Indeed, while the market was strong for sellers, flat rate brokerage made excellent sense in many cases.

- Both flat fee buyers and sellers are expected to figure out how to complete their own transaction after the contract is ratified – This can be challenging, even if you have bought and/or sold a home before
- Additionally, most flat fee listing services ask sellers to reduce their price by the amount they are saving in commission – So the result is that the Seller works harder to sell their own home and still nets the same amount
In a nutshell, when all is said and done, for most buyers and sellers, flat fee listing and buyer brokerage, results in paying similar amounts as would have been paid to a full service, discount commission, brokerage.
